Our guest panelist for this episode is Brian Shields, morning meteorologist at WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando, FL. He graduated from Villanova with a degree in geography and went on to obtain his Broadcast Meteorolgy degree from Mississippi State. He worked in Salisbury, MD, and Charleston, WV.

Jack was born in Long Beach, CA, and like many current meteorologists became intensely interested in weather during grad school and followed up on his interested with a 46 year career. His first job with the Weather Bureau at the Seattle-Tacoma airport from 1967 to 1969.

Joining us as a guest panelist for this show is Tim Hedrick, Chief Meteorologist at Local 12, WKRC, CBS Cincinnati, OH.

And joining us with a last minute invitation from Kevin Selle is our guest panelist Larry Mowry from CBS 11 in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Levi Cowan is a student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. A listener wrote in and tipped us off to Levi's excellent tropical blog and YouTube discussion channel. Thought it might be fun to have Levi come on the show to talk tropics and perhaps he can become our go to guy for tropical discussions. So he agreed to give it a try tonight.

We also have a special guest in John Huntingdon, a Professor of Entertainment Technology at NYC College of Technology, a member of the NYC Stagehand's union (Local 1 IATSE), and a weather geek.

Our second Guest WeatherBrains for this show is Miles Muzio. Miles is the chief meteorologist at KBAK-TV in Bakersfield.

But, Nate Johnson graciously agreed to stand in. He is an old friend of the show. Nate is a weather producer/meteorologist, WRAL-TV in Raleigh. He is extremely active in societal impacts and social media.

He will be hosting a panel discussion at the 39th Conference on Broadcast Meteorology/The Conference on Weather Warnings and Communication in Oklahoma City later this week.

And, of course, we express our condolences to J.B. Elliott in the loss of his dog, "Little Miss Molly"...

Also joining us is Renny Vandewege, the Director of the On-Campus Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University.

And our guest WeatherBrain is Chris Novy. Chris hails from Illinois, but he is currently the Assistant Chief Engineer with the FOX/CW station in Oklahoma City. He is an active storm spotter and has trained thousands of spotters across the Midwest in spotter safety. His degrees are in law enforcement and he is a amateur radio operator. He runs the WX-CHASE and WX-TALK discussion boards.

Our guest WeatherBrain comes to us from the Great State of Texas. Frank Brody is the Chief of the National Weather Service Spaceflight Meteorology Group (SMG) at the Johnson Space Flight Center in Houston, TX.

Guest WeatherBrain for the show comes from the heart of the Nation's breadbasket. Scott Blair is a general forecaster with the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) in Topeka, Kansas. Prior to arriving in Topeka, he served as a meteorologist with the NWS in Goodland, KS. In 2005, he graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences.

And our special Guest WeatherBrain is a big man in radar. Mike Gibson has a background in computers as a software design engineer with two decades of experience writing PC applications and operating system software. His primary specialty is graphics and font technology, from the API down to the driver level. He is the inventor or co-inventor in three patents related to that work. Mike is the owner of Gibson Ridge Software, an Atlanta-based company. He developed one of the most widely used radar interpretation programs in the world.

This week's Guest WeatherBrain is back by popular demand. Roger Hill is arguably the most prolific storm chaser in the world. He has appeared on the National Geographic Channel, The Weather Channel, The Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel, The Learning Channel, NOVA, BBC, 60 Minutes, all the major networks, as well as many other shows. He recently authored a book called "Hunting Nature's Fury" which chronicles his life as a storm chaser from his childhood days in Kansas. Throughout tornado season, he leads guided chase tours through his company Silver Lining Tours.

Coming to us as our Guest WeatherBrain for the last episode of 2010 is Greg Carbin, Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Prediction, Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman, Oklahoma. He has been a forecaster at the SPC since 1996.

And coming to us from Washington, DC, is our guest WeatherBrains, Jason Samenow Before graduating from high school, tonight's Guest WeatherBrain interned for NBC4 chief meteorologist Bob Ryan.

Tonight's Guest WeatherBrain took her BS in Biochemistry from Michigan State University in 1971 and continued at MSU for her medical degree in 1975. Dr. Mary Ann Cooper completed residency training in Emergency Medicine (1978) at the University of Cincinnati, the first emergency medicine program in the US. During her residency she developed an interest in electrical injuries and progressed to lightning injuries for which she is now considered one of the world's experts in this narrow field.

Our guest WeatherBrain is Sean Potter, Communications Specialist National Weather Service/Freelance Science Writer. Sean is a free lance science writer and contributing editor at WeatherWise magazine. He is a Hoosier, graduating from Indiana University. He writes the column Retrospect for WeatherWise, which focuses on interesting events in weather history. He is a CBM and a CCM and a member NCIM. With all those acronyms, it's no surprise that he works for the National Weather Service, where his day job is Communications Specialist. He's married and lives in NYC.

And joining the group as a guest panelist for this episode is Michael Moss. Michael has been a weather enthusiast his entire life . Having lived in Central Indiana his whole life, he has seen just about all the types of weather.

Our guest panelist for this episode is Wayne Hart of WEHT, Evansville, IN. Wayne has been the Chief Meteorologist for NEWS 25 since 1993. Wayne earned the title of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) becoming only the 34th meteorologist in the country and the first in the Tri-State to achieve this distinction.

Joining in as our guest panelist for a second time (first time was episode 206) is Brian Neudorf. Brian is the morning meteorologist on WROC-TV in Rochester, NY. Brian began his career in Bismarck, North Dakota, at KFYR-TV in 2001 and then moved to Erie, Pennsylvania ,in 2003, where he fell in love with lake effect snows.

Our guest panelist is Shane Smith, Morning Meteorologist at WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, WV.

Bernie Rayno is our guest Weather Brain and an Expert Senior Meteorologist and Afternoon Forecast Manager for AccuWeather, Inc. Bernie was born in Beaver Meadows, PA, a town 45 minutes south-southwest of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. His interest in meteorology was sparked early - he was bitten by the weather bug in kindergarten and soon developed an interest in snowstorms.

Our second guest... Towns cringe when they see him coming cause they know that a hurricane or tornado outbreak or winter storm can't be far behind. Like seeing the crew from 60 Minutes in your office lobby on a Monday morning. But everyone loves him...he is the number one personality on The Weather Channel, Jim Cantore.

Our guest panelist is Ginger Zee of WMAQ-TV in Chicago. She was always fascinated with math and science as a child, and went on to study Meteorology at Valparaiso University. Ginger's B.S. in Meteorology (along with minors in Math and Spanish in tow, plus internships and experience in storm chasing), helped her move from WLAV (Grand Rapids, MI) to WEYI (Flint, MI) to WOOD TV (Grand Rapids, MI) and now NBC5 in Chicago. We should also mention that Ginger interned with James Spann at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham while still in college.

Our special guest for this episode is Dr. John Scala, recent Past President of the National Weather Association and currently a broadcast meteorologist for WGAL-TV in Lancaster, PA. Dr. Scala served as the 2008 President of the National Weather Association (NWA), a professional nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting excellence in operational meteorology. He was elected to a second three-year term as Councilor in 2010 and serves currently on the Committee on Societal Impacts of Weather and Climate as well as the Finance Committee. He received the NWA Member of the Year Award in 2009.
